Are You Truly Humble? Learning Humility When Pride Gets in the Way (Minisode)

Have you ever had a moment when your pride got the better of you—and you immediately felt the sting of regret?

Humility is not something most of us are born with. It’s something we learn through daily choices and through the ways God shapes our hearts over time.

In this minisode, I share a personal example of a moment when God used a situation in my life to humble me and remind me how easily pride can slip in.

Learning humility isn’t always comfortable, but it’s an important part of growing in our walk with Christ.

I was not sure what to talk about today, but something keeps popping up in my brain and I really don't want to talk about it.

If we keeps popping up in my brain and I really don't want to talk about it, if we're being honest, because it was not my finest hour, but I'm thinking maybe God wants to use it to help you all.

So here goes this last Sunday that happened.

We were on our way to church.

My daughter was upset because we weren't giving her her blanket.

We wanted to get it for her, but she was screaming, fussing and we told her you have to calm down first.

So eventually her brother went to go get it for her because he had to go in there, and he got it for her to hopefully get her quiet.

She was still upset because I told her if you want to have your blanket, you've got to be quiet first and you got to say thank you.

So I sat there and I asked God for forgiveness and after I had apologized through tears to my family and said I'm sorry for acting like that, I thought about it.

I took a lot longer to blow up on her than I have in the past.

If I'm being honest, god has been doing a lot of work on me.

I still do when I think about it, but I was humble enough to apologize, to realize my mistakes, and then I was able to be encouraged when God lifted me back up after repentance.

He lifted me back up and he showed me well, look how far you've come, and that was encouraging, and I was very emotional at church about it.

But this brings me back to what this last episode of the podcast was about with Dustin Largusa.

His whole ministry is about laying down your pride and allowing God to lift you up, and this was just a perfect example in my life of that.
