Did God Design Wellness Before Modern Medicine?

Have you ever stopped to consider that health and wellness didn’t originate with trends or technology—but with God Himself?

In this episode of Honest Christian Conversations, I sit down with Rob Rene, founder of Exodus Strong, to explore how faith, biology, and healing were never meant to be separated. Rob’s journey is a powerful reminder that wellness isn’t a modern invention—it’s woven into creation itself.

Rob’s story began with a literal collision. While training as an elite runner with Olympic dreams, he was hit by a truck—an accident that abruptly redirected his life. Though he eventually found success in the corporate world, something was missing. By the time the COVID years arrived, Rob describes it as being “hit by a second truck.” Like many of us, the forced stillness created space for hard questions about health, purpose, and the systems we trust.

As Rob began digging deeper, he noticed something unsettling: modern medicine had slowly drifted away from natural, God-designed healing toward synthetic, profit-driven solutions. That realization sent him searching for a more holistic approach—one that honored both science and Scripture. What he discovered wasn’t New Age mysticism, but evidence of God’s design written into the human body itself. As Rob explains, our bodies function through frequencies and rhythms—the same energy God spoke into existence at creation.

The conversation explores how Scripture consistently points us back to God’s design for wellness through rest, rhythm, herbs, oils, and the power of words. Rob shares how research on water, intention, and spoken language echoed biblical truth: “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.” This revelation reframed prayer, praise, and even self-talk as vital components of healing—not add-ons, but essentials.

Rob’s journey didn’t stop with discovery. After ignoring four cardiologists who recommended a pacemaker, his heart stopped on the operating table—and God used that moment to save his life. Later, a melanoma diagnosis pushed Rob deeper into studying integrative healing and oncology. From those trials came Exodus Strong, a wellness supplement rooted in biblical herbs and molecular hydrogen, and a growing faith-based community where science and Scripture meet intentionally.

What struck me most was Rob’s mission statement: “To get a million new people to read the Word through their health.”It perfectly captures the heart of this conversation—seeing health not as self-improvement, but as stewardship. Caring for our bodies becomes an act of worship when we recognize they belong to God.
