Not because it wasn’t important but because it forced me to confront something I never wanted to question: the music I had trusted to shape my faith.
For years, I sang along without thinking much about the lyrics, assuming that if a song sounded “godly,” it must be grounded in truth. But eventually, I had to ask myself a hard question: What gospel is actually being preached through the music we worship to?
Every song preaches something. And when it comes to Christian music, that matters more than we often realize.
In this episode of Honest Christian Conversations, I wrestle with the role worship music plays in shaping our theology—and what happens when beautiful melodies carry confusing or incomplete truth.

I grew up in a legalistic Christian home where asking questions often felt wrong. In my early twenties, overwhelmed by confusion and hurt, I walked away from my faith. But even then, God never stopped pursuing me.
At thirty years old—after a painful second divorce—He brought me back to Himself, and I haven’t looked back since.
As I returned to Christ, I began rebuilding my faith from the ground up. I started asking the questions I was once afraid to ask. Along the way, I uncovered inconsistencies, misplaced teachings, and even lies woven into the Christianity I grew up with. But instead of destroying my faith, it deepened it.
Out of that journey, Honest Christian Conversations was born.
My heart is to help others navigate the same tension I once lived with—wanting to know the real Jesus while sorting through the noise of deceptive teachings, spiritual manipulation, and “wolves in sheep’s clothing.”
Everything I create flows from gratitude for the God who rescued me, restored me, and continues to shape me into who He created me to be.
